Translation: Hey! Leave SuperSara alone! Or I will kill!
EVIL GUY: (weep weep weep) *leaves*
SUPERSARA: Thank you so much! You speak english right?
GERALD: Of course!

  Hey guys!! It's SuperSara!! How wondeful it is to see you all again. So, today were are going to be talking about meiosis. Meiosis is an extra step. I call it "Mitosis: the next level". Oh yeah. So meiosis is taking  the two new daughter called and making them into NOT THREE.... BUT FOUR!!!!! Woah. So mitosis makes sperm and eggs cells. Wanna learn more? Look below!

            

    Meiosis: Genetics The process of cell division in sexually reproducing organisms that reduces the number of chromosomes in reproductive cells from diploid to haploid, leading to the production of gametes in animals and spores in plants. (from tfd.com)

BOOORRRRIIINNNGGGG!!! Let's do this the SuperSaraSuperStyle way B).

  Now, you might be wondering: "SuperSara, meiosis sounds alot like mitosis, do they have a relation?" Why yes they do! Remember when I said earlier "Mitosis: the next level"? Well, I wasn't joking! Meiosis makes two special cells: sperm and egg cells. Sperm and eggs cells mix together and well... you get a bundle of joy! Little juinor! A baby! (after 9 months of course)

                      

                                 

 

  You will also need to know diploids and haploids. A haploid is when each chromosome has 1 nuclueus (1n) . A diploid is when each chromosome has 2 nuclei (2n). Pretty simple!

Cancer (cries in agony)

Hey guys! SuperSara here. Today, were talking about cancer (sigh). Sad topic. BUT, it has to do with cell division, which we are learning about, so yeah! Lol, anyways, let's talk about cancer.

                                  

  Cancer starts with your DNA. If a little chip breaks off, and your body can't fix it in time, your cells will go into overload and make tons of new cells, having to do with cell divison. These new cells can either create a:

• Benign Tumor- Benign acutally means "harmless". This tumor is just where some cancer cells get together and form a lump. If you have one, your doctor will just take it out through surgery, and you'll be fine.
• Malignant Tumor-  This tumor, well, spreads, it can get in your blood stream, and is very dangerous. If you have a malignant tumor you can either get an MRI (where they take pictures of your spine), or chemotherapy (where they put on you on strong, cancer fighting drugs) this may work, but there's little hope.

    Cancer pretty much sucks. It's hard for everyone, beacuse sometimes theres very little hope. "You have cancer" are the three words NO ONE wants to hear. To prevent cancer you can:

• Exercise!
• Eat your veggies!
• Go to your doctor!
• Don't smoke!

 
  If your parents, or your parents parents, (or even your parents parents parents for that matter) have cancer than you may have an increased risk.

Mitosis!!!

  Hey SuperSara here! Were going to be talking bout mitosis today! Yay! Here is a cool video  to watch before I start yapping... SO WATCH IT. Just kidding, but you really should.

  Soooooooooo, Mitosis. You just saw each stage, but let's just forget about prometaphase. *WHOOSH!* It's gone! Now let's add interpahse. Just put it in the beginning.  So in order:  Interpahse, Prophase, Metaphase, Anapahse, and Telopahse.  Mitosis takes one cell and turns it into two. Mitosis made you. Your dad gives you 23 chromosomes, and your mom gives you 23 chromosomes. Thus giving you 46 (haha "thus").  When mitosis is done, you have two new, shiny, daughter cells. I don't why they are called daughter cells and not son cells, so don't ask!

  Interphase: Not really a stage of mitosis. But, an important part in a cell's life cycle. It's the longest part in the cell cycle where  DNA replicates, centrioles divide, and proteins are produced. 

Prophase: In this phase, the nucleolus fades and chromatids condense into chromosomes.

Metaphase: Chromosomes line up in the center of the cell.

Anaphase: Spindle fibers shorten and the chromatids are pulled apart and begin moving to the cell poles.

Telophase: The chromosomes move to opposite ends of the cell, two new nuclear envelopes form, and the chromosomes uncoil. Viola! Two new daughter cells!

Hip Hip Hooray! For DNA! (and RNA too)

  Hello! It's SuperSara talking about DNA and RNA. DNA stands for deoxyribonucleic acid (try saying that 5 times fast). RNA stands for ribonucleic acid.

    So... DNA. Contains everything about you. Not me. You. Well, my DNA contains info about me, and your DNA contains info about you! Let's say you have blonde hair, like me. That's in your DNA. DNA is a double helix found in the nucleus (sounds familiar...) and has tons of information about yourself.

 

  No one has the exact same DNA as you. Not your mom, your dad, your brother, or your sister. The only people that have the exact same DNA are indentical twins. Identical twins are just basically clones. Clones are organisms that share the same exact genetic information. DNA has the letters g (guanine),t (thymine),a (adenine), and c(cytosine). These help make the genetic recipe. (You'll get what I mean when you watch the video at the very end)

                                                

 
  Now let's go on to RNA. RNA stands for ribonucleic acid, again! RNA and DNA are very similar, they're buddies! They also have many differences too. One of the differences you will see below in the video. FUN FACT: (sorry teemy) RNA helps to make protein.
