No... I Will Not Quote the Song!!

Why hello there whoever is reading my blog/being forced to listen!! I'm not having a very good day so if my blog isn't as good as usual, sorry. Anyways, today we are gonna be talking about SPEED! Speed, in a basic definition, is how fast something is moving. Like how fast I can run to Starbucks, or how fast the moon rotates on it's axis! ALL LIVING THINGS MOVE! YEAH! EVERY SECOND OF THE DAY! Even things that aren't alive move! By only by a living thing moving it, or wind. Anyways, Let's get this show on the road!

So... speed has this friend named Velocity. Speed and velocity are very different, much like me and my friend Fatima! (I'm sorry feebs, I had to do that!) Speed is how fast you are moving. Here's an example.

Let's say you're on a long trip to Alabama. When the accelerator on your car say 50 mph, that is how fast you are going, thus making it your speed!

Now, before we move onto velocity, another thing you should know about speed is that there are three types:

  • Instantaneous: The speed of which you are going at a certain time. So, if I were to ask you "WHAT SPEED WERE GOING ON MAY 17TH, 2004 AT 5:36 PM?!", you probably wouldn't know, *but*, if you did, it would be your instantaneous speed :)
  • Constant: Speed that never changes. The only real example I can think of that is the moon rotating on it's axis. It never gets out of breath

  • Average: When I am running a mile, there is always a big hill that gets me. So I slow down. Basically, average speed is speed that increases and decreases.

Now for velocity!!!!! Velocity is the speed and direction you are going. Let's say you were in the same car situation as above, but this time you are going 50 mph, WEST. That would be your velocity. Changes in velocity can add changes in the speed, too! Pretty easy, right?

Okay, so this is where it gets all mathematical. The formula for speed is (speed= distance/time). I know, it looks confusing, but let me explain. So, again, speed is distance divided by time. Let's say Jimmy can run 60 km in 3 seconds. So, we divide 60 by 3 to show how many fast he is going. So, Bob is going 20 kph.

Well, I think that's it and I hope there wasn't anything I forgot! Hope you guys have an awesome week! Oh yeah, if you wanna learn more, I'll post some links below! :D SuperSaraSuperBye!

and of course... my big smiley

SuperSara is Back!

Hello all my friends... I am back from a very fun summer! I hope your summer was great but now it is a new school year and I am in 8th grade! YAY!!!!!! Aaaaaaaand... I have a new logo! Well now I am going to tell you about my summer no matter how boring I am :D

End of May

  • MY BIRTHDAY!!!!
Yeah that's pretty much it for May!

June
  • Did regular kinda stuff, you know, watch movies go to the mall, hang out with friends, and go to White Water.
  • Went to my Grandpa's house in Tennessee for a week
  • Started making YouTube videos, you can watch them by searching "anabelistyping" into youtube. (Just to warn you they're pretty bad)
My favorite ride, the Tornado.
July
  • SAW HARRY POTTER!
  • Did regular stuff again
  • Made more YouTube videos
Beginning of August
  • Did more regular stuff
  • Was sad because summer was almost over
Also, during the summer, at Sparkles it would only be $3 to go on Thursday nights, so I went there with some of  my friends too! :)

Now, by going to my friend Kate's house, I have learned the art of playing Mario Kart. Haha, but really, in all seriousness (or as serious as Mario Kart can be), Mario Kart is now my favorite sport and I am quite good at it :) And I don't even have a Wii! So yes, that was a big part of my summer too! And..... BABY MARIO AND LUIGI RULE!

  Now, for my goals.

Goal 1:
I want to be less lazy. If there's a test the next day, I will study, and not go to bed because I am tired. I think that if I got an A it would be worth losing an hour of sleep.

Goal 2:
Yeah, I rrreeeeeaaaaalllllyyyyyy wanna be student council president. Ever since the beginning of 4th grade (was that really 4 years ago?) I've wanted to be. So, yes, if that happens I will be very happy :) But if it doesn't, well there's always next year!

Here's a message to myself to read at the end of this year:

Dear Anabel,
I hope you had a good year. Hope it was was fun, and that you won many bronco awards, and that you got good grades. Because after this, you have to leave, and then, there will be high school. I just want you, well myself I guess, to stay awesome, and happy, and nice. Treat people the way you would want to be treated. I think that by now (May), you will be smart enough and well prepared to make new friends and to start the 4 years that lead to the rest of your life. Never forget who your true friends are.
- the August you

Well, that's pretty much it! I am very happy to be back and I hope you guys are too! Oh yeah! I have a twitter now! You can add me at anabelisawesome! Thanks guys! Goodbye!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

again, nothing like ending it with a big smiley to start off the year! :D
