Cancer starts with your DNA. If a little chip breaks off, and your body can't fix it in time, your cells will go into overload and make tons of new cells, having to do with cell divison. These new cells can either create a:
- Benign Tumor- Benign acutally means "harmless". This tumor is just where some cancer cells get together and form a lump. If you have one, your doctor will just take it out through surgery, and you'll be fine.
- Malignant Tumor- This tumor, well, spreads, it can get in your blood stream, and is very dangerous. If you have a malignant tumor you can either get an MRI (where they take pictures of your spine), or chemotherapy (where they put on you on strong, cancer fighting drugs) this may work, but there's little hope.

If your parents, or your parents parents, (or even your parents parents parents for that matter) have cancer than you may have an increased risk.
